The 1st FIBO Business Summit Africa was conducted on Wednesday 8 November in the Emperors Palace, Ekurhuleni, South Africa. It brought together key stakeholders in the fitness, wellness and health industry to share expert knowledge in order to help the African health & fitness market to grow.

During the recent study conducted by the Youth Sport Trust (YST) and Women in Sport 25,000 pupils from 138 secondary schools across England and Northern Ireland were interviewed. The results showed that despite both boys and girls realise the importance of physical activity, in reality boys lead way more active lifestyle than girls do.

On Tuesday 24th October, the European Commission adopted its 2018 Work Programme, with priorities and concrete actions to achieve before the end of its mandate in 2019. The document presents as well a series of forward-looking initiatives for the future of Europe.

In view of the new European General Data Protection Regulation, the European Commission launched a Study in order to assist the Member States regarding their national legislation on anti-doping, present legal basis for the processing of personal data in the context of anti-doping activities and provide an inventory of relevant legislation in all EU Member States.

On the 11th October, EuropeActive joined the #BeActive Awards in Marseille, the current European capital of sport. Commissioner Navracsics showed his appreciation to the National Coordinating Bodies and the Official Partners for the success of the 2017 European Week of Sport.
