The European Commission’s annual Education and Training Monitor finds that Member States have made further progress to improve their education and training systems.
On the 22nd of September 2017, the European Commission's Seminar on Healthy Lifestyle in Tartu ended with the publication of the Tartu Call for Healthy Lifestyles from the European Commissioners Navracsics, Andriukaitis and Hogan. Overall, the Call includes 15 important actions that have to be taken in a fight with a sedentary lifestyle and an unhealthy diet. For example, bigger funding for projects promoting physical activity, wider research on people’s attitude and habits regarding health and supporting campaigns to promote healthy dietary practices.
Sir Graham Watson, President of EuropeActive, commented: “With the support of these three Directorates we can see the serious intention of the Commission is to make a positive contribution at a European level to promoting the importance of active lifestyles.”
